Wednesday Shower Night - Or is it?

So, just thinking I should call mom and Eric called me.   He had just gotten home from work, and mom called him.  Said she couldn't get dad in the shower, and he was stinky and smelly.  Running around half naked and refused to get in the shower, and she had been been trying for an hour.  So, Eric started over.   When he was about a mile away, mom called him and said she got him in.   She told dad that Eric was on his way to put him in the shower.  Guess he got in then.  Eric was on his way back home. I called mom, and dad was still in the shower.  Guess Eric had asked her if he used soap, and mom was quite sure he did.   But, she went in and asked dad if he was using soap.  Dad told her no.  She told him to get the soap and washcloth out and use it.  AND, she told him, "You make sure you wash that tallywacker too, 'cuz you smell!"  Mom said dad looked at her and laughed, but did start washing.  Mom was in a good mood, and seemed to be handling things well.   She is hoping the rest of the evening will be better.   I bet Eric hopes for that, too.

  1. Mom said Tallywacker! That has got to be one of the funniest thigs I've ever heard her say! I guess when I asked her about the soap it got her thinking. Hey, whatever it takes. Yes, I am hopig for a quiet evening. I have much homework. But, if I need to I'll head up there. Not really sure what I'd do. Not sure if I'm ready to force dad into the shower. I think he'd fight back, and I don't even want to go there. I wouldn't want to hurt him, and I don't want to make him feel any embarrsament that it might cause. I know the old Chuck would not want me forcing him to do anything. Nope, not ready for that.

  2. Tallywacker. Huh. What a fun word. Have not heard that in a long time. What makes it an even funner word is that it came outta Shirls mouth! Reminds me of when she told us she was going to get her you-truss taken out. Not uterus. You-truss. I think tallywacker is a generational word that her age group used.

Yeah E, having to consider possibly wrasslin' your naked dad into the shower and help him wash his tallywacker {actually, I think it is spelled taliwacker} is another sign that the time has come to make the move that is coming up. I bet he wont give a cute little caretaker any crap about taking a shower, or if she tells him to scrub up his danglefruit. Better for someone to handle that chore that is getting paid hourly rather than one of us.

  3. I agree, sibs. It would be tough to force Chuck into a shower, much less make sure he washes his tallywacker - however it's spelled. As hard as it is, I think we will all be relieved when the move is done. (Need to google tallywacker, but not at work.)

You-truss. When I had my you-truss out, I tried to get mom to say it as much as possible, because it just sounded funny to me. Still does.

LaRae Ball told me once that it got to be a big battle to get AV to shower. It took 2-3 guys to man handle him and force him in there.
