Yesterday, dad slept all day long. They couldn't get him to wake up for breakfast or lunch, but made sure he ate dinner. Mom called after dinner, and they said he was doing well, walking around and spending time in the big room.

Talked with Sally today. She said dad is doing very well, and now that he has settled in, they can see he is such a gentleman. If he is walking toward the door, he always steps back to let the ladies go through first. He also pulls out the chairs for them. Told her he has always been like this, even when he has gone downhill the last few months. She said it shows, and told her he still likes to make sure mom is taken care of - helps her with her coat, etc. She said he is a sweetheart, and they are enjoying him. Today at 2:00, they are taking all of the residents to a ranch to look at horses. Dad should like this, so it will be interesting to see if he remembers and brings it up. Sally also said he is at a point where it should be fine to take him out around the grounds for walks. Maybe in a few weeks, it would be good to take him to different locations, but not good to go home yet. Agreed.
All in all, dad is doing well. Will be seeing him tomorrow.
